Montessori children are independent, open to new experiences, focused on their tasks and persistent. These are children who believe in their own abilities and are eager to help others. The Montessori kindergarten shapes them into people who treat others with respect, but also expect respect for themselves. In the Bilingual kindergarten, we work with children in accordance with Maria Montessori's philosophy.
Bilingual Montessori Kindergarten – How We Work
In our kindergarten we work based on Montessori developmental materials. This foundation was developed Mary Montessori. According to Montessori, the main task of pedagogy is to support children's spontaneity and creativity and to create conditions for their all-round physical, spiritual, cultural and social development.
Following these principles, we give children full opportunity to work freely and participate in activities in a circle intended for the whole group. Children learn to work attentively in silence and concentrate on selected tasks. They use appropriately prepared Montessori aids and teaching materials for this purpose.
How do children develop in our kindergarten?
One of the directions of development that we particularly emphasize is the acquisition of foreign languages. Children learn them in a natural way, through play. Thanks to the ability of young children to acquire several languages at once, which is characteristic of them, and thanks to the friendly atmosphere accompanying education in our kindergarten, children quickly become familiar with languages other than their native one and begin to use them without the embarrassment that often accompanies people who start learning a language at a later stage of development.
In addition to language education, we try to recognize all the other talents and predispositions of children and use their natural ability to learn. We take care to provide children with the best possible conditions for development - those that will allow them to expand their interests and meet their needs.
The main areas of Montessori education are:
- practical life – preparing the child for life, working on independence, self-service – eating, dressing, coordination and harmony of movement, independent use of the toilet, etc.;
- sensorics – improving the senses of sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste, preparing for activities in the field of mathematics, language and culture;
- Mathematical education – experiencing mathematical concepts by playing with specific educational materials, developing the “mathematical mind”, learning the true nature of arithmetic operations;
- language education – enriching vocabulary, preparation for reading and writing, sensory and auditory recognition of letters, reading comprehension;
- cultural education – physical geography, botany, zoology, history, astronomy, ecology, multiculturalism.
